Erik Havig has over 25 years of experience with the Oregon Department of Transportation. He first started through the Graduate Engineer Program completing rotations in construction, traffic design, and location design. He has worked in multiple capacities through his career including geometric design, traffic analysis, access management, maintenance engineering, development review, planning and policy. From 2002 to 2010, Erik has served as the Region 2 Planning and Development Manager responsible for planning, local government, and development review programs and functions. For the past 4 years, Erik has been serving as the Planning Section Manager for Transportation Development Division. In this role, Erik has been responsible for leading the Section in development of long range policy, policy interpretation and implementation, development of guidance documents and standards of practice, as well as the TGM, ConnectOregon, and the statewide modeling and analysis programs. Erik is a registered professional engineer with extensive experience in planning policy and implementation as well as project delivery for both state and local administered projects.
