John Thomas, PE, is transportation engineer with experience in corridor planning and project implementation. Through his experiences, John recognized the need for fast and convenient access to information that facilitates understanding the known built and natural environment. With that information, content driven discussions can assist communication between project teams, decision makers and the public. It is with this philosophy that UPlan, a collaborative data and information sharing tool, is deployed on projects and used to facilitate every day discussions. UDOT has developed UPlan and other tools to meet the demands of sharing information that improves relationships with many of its partners including Federal, State and local agencies as well as the public.
