Parking counts – Understanding demand in cities
July 12, 2017
Many cities and towns recognize that their parking requirements and regulations are outdated, but they struggle in taking the first step toward reform. Kasia Hart, Transportation Policy Associate at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, described their recent study of residential parking around Boston, including their methods, their findings, and thoughts on moving forward.
Chris McCahill, associate researcher at SSTI, discussed a similar study conducted in Madison, Wisconsin, and offer guidance on simplified approaches for agencies with limited resources.
