Our flagship event brings together top transportation executives from across the country to set the agenda for the future of transportation. This annual gathering—our Community of Practice—draws the most innovative state leaders for candid discussions and high-value networking.
Each year, participants dive into pressing topics such as long-term resilience, workforce development, culture change, alliance-building, and cutting-edge design. We challenge conventional thinking and equip leaders with actionable ideas to take home.

- The Caltrans System Investment Strategy (CSIS) builds on Virginia’s SMART SCALE, a recurring focus of past meetings.
- Maryland DOT partnered with Smart Growth America to launch three quick-build Complete Streets pilots after learning about similar projects from peer agencies.
